Serving Wisconsin Families in Washington and Ozaukee Counties
Family Enrichment
To promote individual growth and strengthen family relationships, several educational programs are offered throughout the year. They include:
Turning Points is a four-week program that provides education, accountability and support to youth, ages thirteen years and under and their parents or guardians. Hands-on activities and group discussion help to clearly define the decision making process and the result.
The Power of Choice for Teens is a six-week video-based series, designed to help teens make choices that are healthy and right for them. Humor and reality make this series both entertaining and educational.
Active Parenting of Teens will help parents make the teen years all that they can be, some of the best years ever! This six-week program combines informative and entertaining videos with group support and lively discussion.
Mentoring for Teens
The Washington County Mentoring Program offers one-on-one, youth/adult mentoring relationships for at-risk youth, referred to the program through the Department of Social Services. Mentoring activities are structured to fit each youth's individual needs and encourage a sense of empowerment. Mentors support the youth in finding the best in themselves and reaching their full potential.
Accountability for Juveniles
The Washington County Home Detention Program provides intensive, in-home monitoring and accountability to youth who would otherwise be place in shelter care or secure detention by court authority, law enforcement or the Department of Social Services. The goal of this program is to enhance the family's ability to provide the necessary controls to prevent further delinquent acts, status offenses or court contacts.
